Newberry Springs Fire Department is proud to participate in the regional effort supported by the Silver Valley Fire Alliance.
The Silver Valley Fire Alliance is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to support first responders and strengthen emergency services throughout the Silver Valley.
Its mission focuses on helping firefighters serving rural High Desert communities gain access to quality training, equipment, educational opportunities, and resources.
The Alliance grew from regional cooperation and training between neighboring fire departments and emergency-response organizations. By training together before an emergency occurs, responders become familiar with each other's personnel, apparatus, equipment, capabilities, and operating practices.
What Does 501(c)(3) Mean?
Silver Valley Fire Alliance operates as a federally recognized charitable nonprofit organization. This structure allows community members, businesses, donors, sponsors, and other partners to support programs benefiting first responders throughout the Silver Valley.

Our Responsibility Goes Beyond Community Boundaries
The Silver Valley includes rural communities, businesses, railroad infrastructure, open desert, military installations, and major transportation corridors connecting Southern California with Nevada and Arizona.
Firefighters throughout the area protect more than the people who live here. Emergency responders also assist visitors, commercial transportation, and motorists traveling through the High Desert.
Interstate 15 and Interstate 40 make regional preparedness especially important. Serious incidents can quickly require personnel, apparatus, medical resources, water, and specialized equipment from multiple agencies.
The Bridge We Protect
Local communities are only part of the mission. Our firefighters also protect residents, visitors, commercial traffic, and motorists traveling through the Silver Valley every day.
Supporting Our Rural Fire Departments
The Silver Valley Fire Alliance supports volunteer firefighters and departments serving Newberry Springs, Daggett, and Yermo through training opportunities, equipment assistance, fundraising, firefighter development, and community partnerships.
Preparing for Changing Technology
The Silver Valley Fire Alliance has helped bring specialized training opportunities to the region, including electric and hybrid vehicle emergency response and automobile extrication.
Because Interstate 15 and Interstate 40 pass through the Silver Valley, vehicle collisions and roadway emergencies are an important part of the regional response mission.
The Alliance's E.V./E.R. Auto X training brought more than 50 participants together for classroom and hands-on instruction.
Scenarios included vehicle stabilization, intersection collisions, rollover incidents, extrication, and electric-vehicle fire suppression.
Supporting the Firefighters Behind the Equipment
Strengthening the Silver Valley fire service is about more than purchasing equipment. The Alliance also invests directly in firefighters and their professional development.
Training Assistance
SVFA has provided or reimbursed training expenses for volunteer firefighters, helping reduce financial barriers associated with fire-service education and professional development.
Education & Career Development
Alliance fundraising has also assisted firefighters pursuing additional emergency-service education, including paramedic training and other professional opportunities.
